Soaring Expeditions takes social responsibility as a serious action that any organization can help to make a big difference in society. In the tourism industry, social responsibility can be considered as building sustainable tourism and conserving the biodiversity of the region. Therefore, we are working with professional biologists, media professionals, journalists, provincial officials, and local herders to create sustainable tourism in most remote local areas. For instance, our snow leopard observing expedition creates dozens of labor markets for local herders to help them stay financially stable. It encourages them to take further actions to protect the habitat and the prey animals of the Snow Leopard.
However, conserving wildlife is not only it’s a neighborhood herders’ task, but also the general public should be aware of environmental issues and wildlife threats. We believe that educating the public about wildlife conservation can make a crucial impact on the environment. The MUR (Footprint in English) Wildlife Awareness Project funded by Soaring Expeditions aims to raise public awareness of wildlife and environmental issues in Mongolia. Since its onset in 2020, it has reached millions of people through TV broadcasting and social media and brought up wildlife issues into public discussions including illegal hunting. The project worked closely with industry public organizations and private companies to build information centers in urban birding areas and organize wildlife awareness campaigns.
