Itinerary Details

Day 1: Welcome to Ulaanbaatar
Meet your travel crew and fellow travelers in Ulaanbaatar. Settle in your centrally located hotel and enjoy your free time following your air travel. Opt to indulge in the bittersweet history of Mongolia at the National Museum, which features exhibitions of dinosaur findings, history of Mongolia’s dynasties and empires, and socialism and modern era. If time permits, the option is yours to stroll through the city center. Gather for the reception dinner with your fellow travelers and guides. (3-star hotel, D)
DAY 2: Ulgii Town
Take a domestic flight to the most western city Ulgii, capital of Bayan-Ulgii Province. Wander around the city center and optional visit to local museum if time allows. (Hotel; B-L-D)
DAY 3: Tavan Bogd National Park
Embark on a thrilling drive to the Tavan Bogd base camp. En route explore cultural sightings including petroglyphs, cave paintings, deer stones, and ancient burial mounds. (Tents; B-L-D)
Day 4-5: Ranger's Base Camp (Malchin Peak)
Based in the Ranger’s base camp, set out on an astounding trek to the jaw-dropping Malchin Peak (4,037 m) to get sweeping vistas to the Holy Five Peaks of Altai Mountain range. (Tents; B-L-D)
Day 6: White River or Tsagaan Gol
Trek down the unusual river Tsagaan Gol which has white water. Pitch the camp in the breathtaking part of the river. (Tents; B-L-D)
Day 7-8: Khoton and Khurgan Lakes
Spend enjoyable stays at these dramatic lakes and hike to the striking mountains to get a birds’-eye view to the lakes. Look out for local wildlife including Argali Wild Sheep, Siberian Ibex, and probably Snow Leopard. Exotic Relict Gull may be found at the lakes. (Tents; B-L-D)
Day 9: Ulgii City
Enjoy a drive through the striking landscapes and reach the town in the evening. Unwind and relax at a comfortable hotel in the town. (Hotel; B-L-D)
Day 10: Ulaanbaatar
Take a panoramic drive to the Ulaanbaatar and check in your centrally located hotel upon arrival. Then set off to Central Museum of Mongolian Dinosaurs. If you are in the mood for shopping, go for world-class cashmere and souvenirs for back home. Enjoy fascinating folklore performance by Tumen Ekh Ensemble. (3-star hotel, B-L-D)
Day 11: Fly Home
