Tour Highlights

Mongolia, perhaps the most sparsely populated country in the world, offers many different species of birds and wildlife localized in the variety of undisturbed habitats – seamless vast steppes, fresh and brackish water lakes, Gobi desert and rock-strewn mountains. This awe-inspiring trip touches down the most extraordinary wildlife destinations in Mongolia, with abundant wildlife and brilliant scenery.

This is an ultimate adventure for birdwatchers to see some of their dream bird species from Eastern Palearctic. Therefore, the interesting bird species include Bar-headed & Swan Geese, Altai Snowcock, Spotted Capercaillie, Pallas’s Sandgrouse, White-naped & Demoiselle Crane, Oriental Plover, Cinereous Vulture, Steppe & Golden Eagles, Lesser Kestrel, Amur & Saker Falcons, Mongolian Ground Jay, Mongolian Accentor, Long-tailed & Common Rosefinch, Meadow, Grey-necked & Godlewski’s Buntings, Azure Tit, Eastern Penduline Tit, Wallcreeper, Daurian & Black Redstarts, Desert & Pied Wheatears, Red-throated Thrush and many more.

Mongolia, the land of blue sky, provides home to many birds and is a real example of nomadic people and wildlife living in harmony.

  • Day 1: Ulaanbaatar

The crew will meet you at the airport, then directly drive to the hotel for check-in. Visit the Nogoon Lake, which is located near Tuul Gol/River on the outskirts of Ulaanbaatar city. We will drive through construction wastes in order to get the place, but we will walk among very nice willow trees and along small freshwater streams and pools formed from an old gravel pit. Our hotel is nestled on the Tuul river bank in riparian forest close to the airport, away from the bustling city center. (Hotel; D)

Discover the least visited mountains, steppes, and pools in Jargaltkhaan County. The most important species to be found here is the Pallas’s Cat. Our local trackers will help us to spot the cat. Exciting raptors including saker falcon, steppe eagle, and upland buzzard will appear soaring or preying on diurnal rodents on the steppe. (Ger camp; B-L-D)
