Overview
Mongolia's great festival of wrestling, racing and archery anchors this mid-summer journey. First loop through the heartland — Khugnu-Tarna's dunes, the Orkhon Waterfall, Zanabazar's mountaintop retreat at Tuvkhun and old Karakorum — then a village-scale mini-Naadam among nomads before the roaring opening ceremony in Ulaanbaatar's Central Stadium.
Day by day
Two Naadams — one intimate, one immense — joined by the monasteries and waterfalls of the Orkhon heartland.
