Overview

Mongolia's classic circuit. Fly south to the Gobi for Yolyn Am, the singing dunes and the Flaming Cliffs, then arc overland through Ongi Monastery to the Orkhon Valley — waterfall, Karakorum and Erdene Zuu — before Khugnu-Tarna's dunes and the takhi of Hustai carry you home. One loop, most of Mongolia's icons.

  • The Gobi trio: Yolyn Am, Khongoryn Els, Bayanzag
  • Two nights at the singing dunes with camel caravan
  • Ongi Monastery's ruins and living revival
  • Orkhon Waterfall and UNESCO's imperial valley
  • Karakorum and the great monastery of Erdene Zuu
  • Przewalski's horses on a Hustai evening safari
