Day 1|Terelj National Park — Straight Into the Green

Airport transfer + drive 2 hrs

From the airport straight to Gorkhi-Terelj: hiking along the Tuul beneath granite tors, the southern edge of Siberia's boreal forest — and the forty-metre steel Chinggis Khaan gleaming en route.

Day 2|Yolyn Am — South to the Gobi

Fly 2 hrs, then drive 1 hr

Fly to Dalanzadgad and drive into Gurvan Saikhan — the Three Beauties. Trek the narrow gorge of Yolyn Am with its summer ice field and nesting lammergeiers, and browse the dinosaur museum.

Day 3|Khongoryn Els — The Singing Sands

Drive 3–4 hrs

The long scenic drive to the great dunes, then the sunset climb as the sands sing beneath you.

Day 4|Khongoryn Els — Dune Day

Camel caravan along the dune front, saxaul-scrub birding, and a night of desert stargazing few skies on earth can match.

Day 5|Bayanzag — The Flaming Cliffs

Drive 2–3 hrs

Dinosaur-egg ground zero: comb the red badlands for bone fragments, watch the Roy Chapman Andrews footage, and take the cliff-top sunset.

Day 6|Mongol Nomadic — Living the Life

Fly 2 hrs, then drive 1–2 hrs

Fly north and step into nomadic life at Mongol Nomadic camp: wear a deel, play ankle-bone games with the children, milk the cows and brew milk tea the Mongolian way.

Day 7|Ulgii & Oigor River — The Far West

Fly 3 hrs, then drive 3–4 hrs

Fly to Ulgii, westernmost city of Mongolia, and drive to the Oigor River past petroglyphs, deer stones and burial mounds.

Day 8|Tavan Bogd Basecamp — The Approach

Trek seventeen kilometres to basecamp beneath the Five Holy Peaks, camels carrying the loads through glacier-fed valleys.

Day 9|Malchin Peak — The Summit

Nine kilometres up Malchin Peak — 4,037 metres — for the full panorama of peaks and ice, then celebration under the stars.

Day 10|White River — The Descent

Fifteen kilometres down the White River valley, big country all the way, to a community ger camp beside an eagle falconer's home.

Day 11|Eagle Hunters Valley — With the Falconers

A full day with the eagle-hunting family: training craft, wolf-hunt stories, and photography of hunters and birds at home.

Day 12|Ulaanbaatar — Interlude

Fly 3 hrs

Fly back for the National Museum and an evening of Tumen Ekh's music and contortion — plus laundry, showers and a proper bed.

Day 13|Murun & Khuvsgul Lake — North to the Blue Pearl

Fly 1.5 hrs, then drive 3 hrs

Fly to Murun and drive to Khuvsgul, cruising the Blue Pearl beneath forested mountains.

Day 14|Tsagaan Lake — Edge of the Taiga

Drive 4–5 hrs

Drive lake shores and boreal forest to Tsagaan Nuur, walking with the Darkhad people of this isolated valley — the reindeer journey starts here.

Day 15|Reindeer Herders' Tribe — Into the Forest

Ride horseback into the taiga to the Tsaatan camp — ortz tents among the larches, reindeer at their pickets, a world apart.

Day 16|Reindeer Herders' Tribe — Taiga Days

Live the camp's rhythm: milking and herding the reindeer, sharing cultures with your hosts, learning the forest's craft.

Day 17|Reindeer Herders' Tribe — Last Day in Camp

A final day among the herders — riding, listening, photographing — before the taiga lets you go.

Day 18|Ulaan Uul — Village Sunset

Horseback, then drive

Ride out and drive to the small town of Ulaan Uul, wandering the village lanes as the light goes long.

Day 19|Murun Town — Deer Stones Road

Drive 4–5 hrs

South to Murun past the twenty deer stones of Uushigiin Uvur, with an evening in the northern capital.

Day 20|Ulaanbaatar — The Last Evening

Fly 1.5 hrs

Fly back for cashmere and souvenirs, and night views over the city from Zaisan Hill.

Day 21|Fly Home — Departure

Airport transfer, 1 hr
