Day 1|Welcome to Ulaanbaatar — Arrival

Day 2|Terelj National Park — Taiga Warm-Up

Drive 2 hrs

First boots-on day: the 108 steps of Aryabal and a ridge trek over the granite valleys of Gorkhi-Terelj.

Day 3|Baga Gazryn Chuluu — The First Granite Sea

Drive 4–5 hrs

South into the steppe to Baga Gazryn Chuluu — a day trekking rock outcrops rich with petroglyphs, caves, deer stones and burial monuments.

Day 4|Ikh Gazryn Chuluu — Boulders and Argali

Drive 3–4 hrs

The bigger sibling: trek the vast granite expanse of Ikh Gazryn Chuluu, its sizable caves sheltering wildlife — argali wild sheep among them.

Day 5|Tsagaan Suvarga — The White Stupa

Drive 3–4 hrs

Walk the rim and base of the sixty-metre limestone cliffs — an ancient seabed now glowing ochre and white over the desert steppe.

Day 6|Yolyn Am — Into Gurvan Saikhan

Drive 3–4 hrs

West into the Three Beauties range to trek the deep gorge of Yolyn Am, with dinosaur bones at the local museum for afters.

Day 7|Khongoryn Els — The Singing Sands

Drive 3–4 hrs

The long scenic drive to the great dunes, then the classic climb for sunset as the sands hum underfoot.

Day 8|Khongoryn Els — Dunes in Depth

A camel caravan hour, a saxaul-forest walk, and an evening of world-class stargazing from the dune field.

Day 9|Bayanzag — The Flaming Cliffs

Drive 2–3 hrs

Trek the red badlands where dinosaur eggs first came to light, scanning the dust for wind-uncovered bone.

Day 10|Ongi Monastery — Ruins and Revival

Drive 4 hrs

North to Ongiin Khiid: trek the ruins of one of Mongolia's greatest monasteries, hear its story in the ger museum, and meet the head lama.

Day 11|Khugnu-Tarna National Park — Khugnu Khan

Drive 4–5 hrs

Trek Khugnu Khan mountain for one of Mongolia's strangest views — dunes, green valley and granite tors in a single sweep — with the Uvgun temple hidden below.

Day 12|Hustai National Park — Walking With Wild Horses

Drive 2–3 hrs

Hike Hustai's birch-sloped hills with the park's researchers, takhi grazing the rolling steppe below.

Day 13|Ulaanbaatar — City Finale

Drive 2 hrs

Back to the capital: the Dinosaur Museum, cashmere, and Tumen Ekh by night.

Day 14|Fly Home — Departure
